CARBONIT® filter cartridges combine water filtration and improved taste of the water. For the production, a special EM-ceramic is added to the activated carbon in the process of sintering. Among other things, this ceramic causes a reduction in the surface tension of the water and the reduction of cluster structures. Thus, the taste of the water is described by most people as softer or rounder. Together with the proven filter performance of the CARBONIT® NFP Premium filter technology, the result is an ideal water filtration. Activated carbon has a large surface, which is used as an adsorbent, for example in chemistry, medicine and water- and wastewater treatment. The sintered activated carbon block filter based on coconut focusses the chemical-physical removal of unwanted ingredients in drinking water e.g. caused by the influences of the house installation. Service life: The filter cartridge must be replaced after 6 months (according to DIN 1988). Basically, within the 6 months 10,000 liters of water may be filtered. An earlier change may, however, be necessary if the water flow is noticeably reduced. An early change is not a defect of the filter used, but an indication of increased occurrence of fine particles in unfiltered water. This cartridge combines two technologies for high water flow in special applications (medical technology, water machines) and convenient operation with downstream technical equipment or turbulizers. Hospital hygienists document that in water proven legionella, pseudomonads and fungi (eg Aspergillus) can be a transmission source for humans. Scientific research by the Institute for Hygiene and Public Health of the University of Bonn shows that these burdens can occur not only in the hospital, but also in the home environment. Here, of course, primarily immune-compromised persons are at risk. Terminal filters can provide protection.  The capillary membrane of IFP Puro (also called hollow fiber membrane) consists of polyethersulfone.Equipment:1. This filter cartridge has been manufactured based on the two-stage IFP Puro for Prime Inventions. It combines the special properties of a sintered CARBONIT® monoblock with a microfiltration of 0.15 µm through the inner capillary membrane. Even high pollutant-loads that could accumulate in the human body are reliably restrained. Minerals dissolved in the water are retained.  The EM Puro is ideal for low line pressure and allows to limit bacterial loads. The Sterotap® capillary membrane has been tested according to ANSI / NSF Standard53 (Cyst and Turbidity Reduction). The activated carbon block used has tested safety according to German food law and is processed in an environmentally friendly manner using renewable raw materials. The addition of EM ceramic powder (EM = Effective Microorganisms) gives the filter cartridge special properties. The taste of the water appears thereby many users more full-bodied and fresher.  Service life: The filter cartridge must be replaced after 6 months (according to DIN 1988).
