PENTEK BIG BLUE BAG FILTER HOUSINGS
The PBH Big Blue bag filter housings, are available in 10" and 20" inch lengths. They are excellent when long service life is required for sediment filtration. The large volume of the filter bags guarantees a very large capacity . Therefore, these filter housings are very suitable for all operators of water treatment plants. These filter housings are ideal for low flow applications such as well pre-filtration, food processing, commercial and industrial applications. The Big Blue housings have been tested and certified to NSF® (International NSF/ANSI Standard) for suitable materials and structural integrity requirements, making them excellent for industrial uses or drinking water filtration. The O-rings are manufactured from BUNA-N.
The strong, lightweight and corrosion resistant filter housings are made of polypropylene and are easy to install. Of course, we can also supply you with the matching bag filters in many different µm thicknesses as packaging units. As inlet or outlet the housings are available in the connection sizes 1" with NPT thread, or 11/2 inch with BSP thread. Please select the appropriate variant for your order via the selection menu and note the thread type.
Why bag filters?
Well water also contains sediments such as sand, oxides, clay and loam particles. If downstream treatment systems (e.g. iron and manganese filters) or garden irrigation systems are to be operated, pre-filtration of sediments is necessary. Sediment filters thus reduce the amount of sediment carried along by the pump with the pumped water and ensure, among other things, that the mechanisms of such devices as Oxydizer classic or pH Neutralizer are not prematurely contaminated or blocked.
Equipment
The Pentair PBH is supplied with pressure gauge and drain cock. A mounting bracket (including screws), two double pipe nipples and a housing opening wrench are also supplied. The pressure gauge is used to measure the outlet pressure. When this drops, the filter is full. This allows you to check at a glance whether the bag needs to be cleaned. With the drain cock on the housing, you can simply drain the water before cleaning or changing the filter, which makes cleaning much easier afterwards.
Note: The NPT threads are slightly different in diameter, number of turns (pitch in turns per inch) and taper angle compared to the Whitworth threads also called British Standard Pipe (BSP), which are common in Germany, so that both threads cannot be screwed together.
